World Tree Radiant Gems and the Astralym boss fight

Awakening mechanics

Awakening is a new 1.0 endgame system unlocked through the World Tree storyline. Collect Radiant Gems from World Tree content and socket them into a pal to permanently enhance its stats. Each pal has up to 3 gem slots, unlocked as you progress the World Tree blessing rank.

  • Unlocked after reaching the World Tree region and clearing the related main quest
  • Each pal can equip up to 3 Radiant Gems (1 slot at rank 1, 2 at rank 2, 3 at rank 3)
  • 1 slot grants +5% work output, 2 slots +10%, 3 slots +15% to the gem's target stat
  • Gems are shared across bases — socket once, benefit everywhere that pal is assigned
  • Gems can be removed and reused, so experiment freely without destroying them

Radiant Gems

Radiant Gems are dropped by World Tree enemies, bosses, and the Astralym encounter. Each gem targets a specific stat or work type.

Awakening effects

Socketed gems stack their effects additively within the same stat. The blessing passive from the World Tree also applies once a pal is Awakened.

  • Stat bonuses (ATK / HP / DEF) scale with the number of matching gems socketed
  • Work output bonus follows the slot rule: +5% / +10% / +15% for 1 / 2 / 3 gems
  • Awakened pals gain the World Tree Blessing passive (Astralym, Solenne, Renjishi lines)
  • Mount speed and partner-skill effectiveness can be raised via Swiftness and Focus gems
  • Effects are permanent for that pal until you remove or replace the gems

Astralym boss fight

Astralym is the capstone World Tree boss guarding the highest-tier Radiant Gems. It is the main source of Swiftness and Focus gems and drops the materials needed to unlock the 3rd gem slot.

Strategy

  • Bring a level 75+ party; Dragon and Dark pals deal bonus damage, bring element counters
  • Astralym cycles between a ground phase and a flying phase — swap to ranged pals during flight
  • Watch the AoE breath attack during the ground phase; dodge laterally, not backward
  • In the final phase it summons adds — clear them quickly or they buff Astralym's attack
  • Use Focus gems on your main attacker beforehand to boost partner-skill damage

Rewards

  • Guaranteed Radiant Gem of Swiftness (1-2 per kill)
  • Chance for Radiant Gem of Focus
  • World Tree Blessing materials to unlock the 3rd gem slot
  • Ancient Tech Points and rare World Tree materials
