Mechanism
Fishing is a new leisure system in 1.0. Equip a rod and fish at lakes, coasts, and rivers. Fish shadows appear on the water — cast near them, wait for a bite, then manage tension while reeling in to land fish and materials.
How to unlock
- Player level 10: unlocks Old Fishing Rod tech
- Craft at workbench: Wood ×5, Stone ×3
- Higher-tier rods unlock rarer fish
Fishing workflow
- 1. Unlock the rod
Reach player level 10 to unlock the Old Fishing Rod. Craft it at a workbench with wood and stone.
- 2. Equip the rod
Place the rod in your hotbar. Stand near water, equip it, and enter fishing mode.
- 3. Find a fish shadow
Look for fish shadows on the surface. Approach and cast your line near the shadow.
- 4. Reel in
When a fish bites, reel in following the prompt. Keep tension below the red line or the line breaks.
- 5. Use bait
Apply bait before casting to raise the spawn rate and quality of specific fish.
