Salvage System
Complete guide to the Palworld 1.0 Salvage system: fishing rod and water mount requirements, basic and advanced salvage, salvage magnet, coral ore, and blueprint drops.
Fishing rod + water mount, basic & advanced salvage, coral ore and blueprints
Salvage types
Salvage nodes appear underwater in lakes and coastal waters. There are two tiers, gated by your fishing rod and water mount.
| Type | Depth | Yield |
|---|---|---|
| Basic salvage | Shallow water, lakeshores | Scrap metal, rope, low-tier materials |
| Advanced salvage | Deep water, ocean, Sunreach coast | Coral ore, blueprint fragments, rare materials |
Fishing rod
Salvage uses the same fishing rod unlocked from the tech tree. Equip the rod and aim at an underwater salvage node to begin. Higher-tier rods reduce the salvage channel time and unlock advanced nodes in deep water.
Water mount required
Most salvage nodes sit in deep water where you cannot stand. You need a water mount (or a flying mount that can hover over water) to reach them safely without drowning.
- Surfent — early water mount, good for shallow salvage
- Azurobe — faster swim speed, handles coastal nodes
- Jormuntide — strong water mount for deep ocean salvage
- Frostallion / Jetragon — flying mounts that can hover for safe salvage
Salvage magnet
The salvage magnet is an accessory that pulls nearby salvage nodes toward you, cutting down swim time between nodes. Equip it in an accessory slot before heading out. It is especially useful in deep ocean salvage runs where nodes are spread out.
Coral ore
Coral ore is the signature advanced-salvage material, found in deep-water nodes along the Sunreach coast. It is used to craft high-tier water gear and trade-only recipes.
- Crafting high-tier water-element weapons and accessories
- Trade-only recipes sold by Sunreach merchants
- Upgrading advanced fishing rods and salvage tools
- Building decorations that require ocean materials
Blueprint drops
Advanced salvage nodes have a chance to drop blueprints that are not available elsewhere. These are the main reason to run salvage in the endgame.
| Blueprint | Source | Rarity |
|---|---|---|
| Advanced Salvage Tool | Deep ocean nodes | Rare |
| Coral Armor | Sunreach coast nodes | Rare |
| Salvage Magnet Mk2 | Advanced salvage nodes | Very rare |
| Ocean Glider | Deep-water nodes | Very rare |
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Salvage system?
A 1.0 system that lets you harvest underwater nodes with a fishing rod. Basic salvage is in shallow water; advanced salvage in deep water yields coral ore and blueprints.
Do I need a water mount to salvage?
For most nodes yes — they sit in deep water where you cannot stand. Use a water mount like Surfent or Jormuntide, or a flying mount that can hover.
What is coral ore for?
Coral ore from advanced salvage is used to craft high-tier water gear, trade-only recipes from Sunreach merchants, and to upgrade salvage tools.
What does the salvage magnet do?
It is an accessory that pulls nearby salvage nodes toward you, reducing swim time. Useful for deep-ocean runs where nodes are spread out.
Where do blueprint drops come from?
Advanced salvage nodes in deep water and along the Sunreach coast can drop rare blueprints like the Salvage Magnet Mk2 and Ocean Glider.
